The Pixie Girl

The name Pixie was a racial remnant of Pictic tribes who used to paint and tattoo their skin blue, an attribute often given to pixies. They are usually depicted wearing a green outfit, hat and are often ill-clothed. A piece of ribbon appears to be highly prized by them.
Sometimes their eyes are described as being pointed upwards at the temple ends. Pixies are said to be uncommonly beautiful.
Kylie is all spunk and pixie rolled into a tiny package and sprinkled with attitude.
This little beauty is more then meets the eye.
Beneath this pixies exterior of beauty, style, strength and no nonsense manner lies a heart and soul that is pure gold.
I met Kylie during her senior year of high school.  I was her introduction art teacher, but I knew right away there was nothing introductory about this girls artist talent.

Right away I noticed that Kylie could turn even the most basic assignment into a complex masterpiece of art.  Kylie just saw things in a different light.  A light that shown through all those around her.
Give this girl a piece of ribbon and a paper clip and she can create a masterpiece of style and cutting edge beauty out of it.
Kylie isn’t the type of girl to let the grass grow under her feet.  Give her a task or problem and she has it solved with in twenty-four hours, plus ten alternatives to make it work.
Kylie marches to the beat of her own drum and has countless other lining up to copy her beat, yet she doesn’t care if she is alone or has a full band following behind her. To thy own self be true.  Kylie is true to herself.
If you are a friend of Kylie, you are more like family.  Once you are in this girl’s life and are true to her, she will give you her heart and soul with a topping of total devotion.  Kylie will give you the coat off her back if you are “in” her life.
As big as her heart is (and it’s really big), if you hurt anyone she loves, she will cut you.  When Kylie is in your corner, she has got your back.

A heart of a lamb with the bite of a lion.
What mischief, inspiration and feelings lie beneath those haunting eyes?
A mother in the making?  Kylie has a natural mothering instinct when it comes to babies and children.  She looked so serene when she picked up Baby Kingston; I just had to shoot them together.  She instantly was able to calm down his crying with her soothing rocking and cooing.
Who is more charming and endearing in this photo…….I can not decide.

Kylie is not only my photography wing girl; she is my dear friend, my little sister, my kindred spirit.
