Remember those evenings spent at the roller rink? The smell of rented skates, flashing neon lights, the latest hits blaring over the speakers and maybe if you are lucky a slow skate with that cute guy or girl you have been eyeing? I can still hear “Take My Breath Away” from the Top Gun Soundtrack playing over the sound system.
The roller rink is where many of my memories from elementary and junior high school were made. It was the place for school events, dances, birthday parties or just a safe place for kids to hang out.
From the first second I walked into the roller rink for this photo shoot, I was flooded with memories from my childhood. Wonderful memories of a simpler time, a time of innocence, laughter and maybe a couple tears shed when I didn’t get that slow skate with the cute guy.
This was a photo shoot that I had wanted to do for a long time. I love anything retro and nostalgic! I have a tendency to live in the days gone by in my head and dream of a time long past that I romantacise. I will jump at the chance to recreate days long gone.
Enter Desiree. How I love this girl. Put her in any situation, any outfit and she can rock it! She is timeless. Bet you can’t guess her age! If you didn’t see her in my Get Madd photo shoot you will need to check it out. Get MADD Photo shoot
This is also the photo shoot taken a couple months ago which I believed pushed my pregnant body into its current state of bed rest. Awwwww, the price we pay for our art. Grant it, I maybe didn’t have to get on my own roller skates to take these photos but they were worth all the effort! I am in love with this photo shoot and with how amazing Desiree was as my model.
Not to worry, mamma and baby are doing fine as we await Kingston James McElfish’s arrival on November 15th, 2010. With bed rest I have had plenty of time to catch up on all my post editing of my photo shoots.
There were so many amazing photos of Desiree it was next to impossible to narrow them down to just a few to show everyone here. Ahhhh, what a problem to have, I know.
If only my little two year old Konnor had been here to see the grab machine. Last time he was around one, he some how figured out that if you unplug and replug in the machine you get a free grab. Don’t worry everyone, I stopped him from touching the plugs as soon as I figured out what he was doing. A little advanced and sneaky for his age.
Desiree you are all heart, suger, and sexiness rolled into one package!
The photo booth shots are my favorite from this shoot. This was so much fun to photography, it didn’t even feel like work.
If you are like me, this photo shoot brought back some happy memories. Back when you were “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “When Doves Cry”
