However motherhood comes to you, it’s a miracle.

 There are between 143 million -210 million orphans worldwide:
 123,000 of these orphans are in the United States:
 There are more than 62,000 children in foster care in California:
 3,200 of these foster children are located in Orange County my home:
 Blood alone does not make one a mother or father.
I am OBSESSED with Anne of Green Gables.
I have seen the entire movie series over 100 time.  
Each viewing I found another jewel of wisdom.
Anne was my kindred spirit.
I could lose myself in her world over and over.

I’m afraid that much of my romantic longings are her fault.
With all her prickles and stern demeanor, Marilla Cuthbert was softened by this little orphan girl.  Marilla thought she would change Anne………it turned out to be the other way.
Marilla Cuthbert, “Anne isn’t the one that has changed……we are.”
This little orphan girl gave Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert a joy they never knew they were missing or needed.
Sometimes we are given things we did not want, but that God knows we need.
Marilla Cuthbert: I’m afraid for her, Matthew. She’ll be gone so long. She’ll get terrible lonesome.

Matthew Cuthbert: You mean, we’ll get terrible lonesome.

Marilla Cuthbert: I can’t help wishing that she’d stayed a little girl.

Matthew Cuthbert: Mrs. Spencer made a lucky mistake, I guess.

Marilla Cuthbert: It wasn’t luck; it was Providence. He knew we needed her.

Matthew Cuthbert: Even with her queer little ways.

Marilla Cuthbert: I loved her for them.
Anne of Green Gables left me with longing to visit Prince Edward Island……
Anne left me with a desire to adopt
I know someday in the future I will open my home and adopt a child

My husband already jokes that I seem to pick up strays.
I soooooooooooooo admire the men and woman who open their homes and hearts to orphans and foster children.
Families which are tied and bound by love.
